Refugio Chileno, located on the beginning section of the 'W' trek. Refugios provide a bunk, shower and hot meal at a reasonable cost to backpackers and hikers. The Chilean national park service at Torres del Paine strictly controls where hikers/backpackers may camp. Disregard for the rules in the past have caused disastrous forest and range fires as a result of carelessness with camp fires and the common high winds within the park.
